Daubert® Signs Agreements to Manufacture in India (February, 2002) – One of the most recognized names in metal corrosion prevention, Daubert Industries, Inc., has signed agreements to manufacture, market and sell two of its product lines in India. The new venture, Zavenir Daubert India, (Pvt.) Ltd., is a collaboration between Daubert VCI, Inc., Daubert Chemical Company Inc., and long-time Daubert® distributor, Zavenir Coated Products (Pvt.) Ltd. Daubert VCI, Inc. and Daubert Chemical Company, Inc., are both based near Chicago, IL. Zavenir is located in New Delhi. Zavenir Daubert India, Ltd., incorporated January 4, 2002, will build a new facility in Huryana, 25 miles from New Delhi. The new factory will manufacture Daubert’s Nox-Rust® brand of corrosion preventive packaging and liquid products, as well as other Daubert VCI brand corrosion inhibiting products. It will be modeled after the existing Daubert VCI plant in the U.S., which opened in 1999, but will have the added capabilities for manufacturing Nox-Rust® liquid products developed by Daubert Chemical, using domestic raw materials to achieve the best economics possible. The three companies will work together to construct a state-of-the-art facility capable of producing high quality volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) paper packaging and rust preventive liquids for the automotive, heavy equipment, electronics, metalworking and other industries where corrosion and tarnish prevention is required during shipping and storage. The endeavor is the result of a rapidly growing demand for the products in India’s burgeoning automotive, electronics, and steel industries and Zavenir’s success with the Daubert product lines during the past eight years. "Zavenir’s understanding of the Indian VCI market and their knowledge of Daubert’s products makes them a strong partner with whom we can take things to the next level in India," commented Martin Simpson, International Sales Manager for Daubert VCI, Inc. Glenn Bilek, Vice President of Business Development for Daubert Chemical added, "The combination of Daubert Chemical’s liquid Nox-Rust® products with Daubert VCI’s offerings will make Zavenir Daubert India the one-stop-shop to do business with in the Indian market." Daubert Industries, Inc., President and CEO Larry Garman also expressed confidence in the new relationship. "India represents enormous opportunities for our products because of the rapidly growing manufacturing base and the resulting exports of metal products," he said. "The combination of Daubert quality, Zavenir’s experience and their manufacturing cost advantage puts us in a unique position to service the increasingly sophisticated user base in India." Zavenir is a family-owned company, established in 1995 as a distributor of Nox-Rust brand products. Mr. H.L. Bhartia, Managing Director of the new venture, is optimistic about the future. "Daubert is a recognized leader in corrosion prevention throughout the world. We have built on this reputation in India over the past eight years, adding to it Zavenir’s knowledge of the factors unique to India. We are excited to be able to offer such high quality products with the service and availability that Indian industry requires." Daubert has been providing rust prevention solutions to industry since the company was founded in 1935 and began manufacturing rust preventive oils. George Daubert pioneered the use of volatile corrosion inhibitors in 1948. Groundbreaking for the Zavenir Daubert India (Pvt.) Ltd. manufacturing plant is expected in mid-2002. Production is targeted for later this year. |
