Military Packaging

Daubert Cromwell has a complete selection of VCI papers, films, liquids, and devices for use in military packaging applications, whether it’s to protect individual firearms or ship crates of critical supplies to warfighters. All military packaging is designed to meet the strictest requirements for long-term corrosion protection of ferrous metals in severe environments. Daubert Cromwell products have met these standards for decades. Today, the U.S. Dept. of Defense Qualified Product List (QPL) lists Daubert Cromwell on its military specifications for MIL-PRF-3420 and MIL-PRF-22019/22020.

VCI papers qualified to Mil-PRF-3420:

  • Light duty Class 3, Style A, form b. 35 lb. natural kraft.
  • Medium duty Class 2, Style A, form b. 60 lb. natural kraft. Nitrite-free. NSN-8135-00-664-4012.
  • Heavy duty Class 1, Style A, form b. 70 lb. natural kraft.

VCI film qualified to Mil-PRF-22019/22020:

  • Ferro-Film XP – A high-strength VCI poly with exceptional puncture strength. On the QPL for use as a VCI film (22019) and for VCI bags (22020).
** ask about new HD100VCI foil, a heavy duty, high barrier, VCI material that is manufactured to meet the specifications of MIL-PRF-131K, Class 1, with the addition of VCI.

Waxed barrier material, Mil-B-121
Two types of Versil-Pak pipe wrap meet the requirements of military specification MIL-B-121:

  • Versil-Pak #5-1:
    Mil B-121, Type 1, Grade C, Class I.
    Polyester high strength fabric core provides high-strength and carrier of the protective wax. High adhesion wax assures excellent barrier properties. It is treated with fungicides to help reduce antimicrobial induced corrosion (MIC).
  • Versil-Pak #5-2:
    Mil B-121, Type 1, Grade C, Class 2.
    Polyester high strength fabric core provides high-strength and carrier of the protective wax. Two-sided high adhesion wax assures excellent barrier properties. It is treated with fungicides to reduce antimicrobial induced corrosion.
